Lemon/Coconut Squares

275 degrees then 350 13 x 9
1 1/2 cups flour sifted
1/2 cup brown sugar firmly packed
1/2 cup margarine
2 eggs beaten
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups coconut shredded
1 cup nuts chopped
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup powdered sugar
juice of lemon
1 Tbsp margarine

Cookie Dough Crust Mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup margarine. Pat dough down well in buttered 13 x 9 x 2 pan. Bake in a very slow oven, 275 degrees, for 10 minutes. Filling Combine eggs, brown sugar, coconut, nuts, flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, for 20 minutes. While still warm spread with frosting made with powdered sugar, melted margarine and lemon juice. Cool slightly and cut in 2 inch squares. Complete cooling on cake rack.
