Grandma High s Sugar Cookies

10 minutes 350 degrees
1 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup Crisco
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Beat together until creamy
Mix together:
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp soda
sifted together:
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder

Cream sugar, salt, Crisco, and vanilla. Add eggs. Add 1/2 buttermilk mixture-stir. Add 1/2 flour mixture. Stir. Repeat. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until done. This dough can be refrigerated 3 or 4 days.
