Enough flour to make stiff dough (see notes). If sweet milk is used, use 3 tsp baking powder instead of
soda.
Mix shortening, eggs and sugar. Add dry ingredients alternate with milk. Bake 350 degrees 10 - 15 mins
until golden brown. Note: 3 1/2 cups of flour makes a good cookie. Can sprinkle with sugar before baking,
colored sugar at Xmas or frost with your favorite recipe. To make sour milk add 1 Tablespoon lemon juice to
1 cup milk.
