Butterscotch Pie

15 minutes Pre-heat oven to 375 8 inch pie pan
1 cup brown sugar
3 Tbls flour
1 1/4 cups water
dash salt
3 eggs separated
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbls butter
1/2 cup sugar

Cook brown sugar, flour, water & salt until thick. Beat egg yolks, add small amount of hot mixture to egg yolks, mix and return to pan. Add vanilla and butter. Pour into BAKED pie shell. Top with meringue made with 3 egg whites and 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes until golden brown.
