Barley Stew with Lentils

1.5 hours 350 soup pot
1/3 cup onions chopped
1/2 cup celery chopped
1/2 cup carrots chopped
5 tbls butter or half niter kibbeh
5 cups chicken broth
1 cup lentils picked and washed
1/2 cup barley
1/8 tsp Rosemary
2 tsp salt
2 tsp cumin ground
1/2 lb Spinach

In a large soup pot saute onions, carrots and celery in butter. Add lentils, barley, salt and spices and saute a minute. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Place in 350 degree oven for 1 hour until barley and lentils are tender. Stir in greens and wilt on stove top for 15 minutes.
