Bread (Rolls and Dumplings )

Buttermilk Biscuits

450 degrees F
1 3/4 cups flour sifted
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup lard 5 Tbl Butter
3/4 cup buttermilk

Sift together dry ingredients, cut in lard or butter. Add buttermilk and mix until dough just comes together. Pat into a 1/4 inch slab and cut with a floured biscuit cutter. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
