Cream of Asparagus Soup

4 cups asparagus chopped
1 cup water
5 Tbl butter
1 tsp onion powder
5 Tbl flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 cups milk
1 Tbl chicken bouillon

Cook asparagus in 1 cup water until tender, drain. Reserve liquid. Sauté onion in butter, stir in flour, salt, pepper, and cook over medium heat for 1 minute. Stir in milk. Add 1 additional cup of water and reserved liquid and bouillon. Cook, stirring with wire whisk till thick. Makes 6 servings.
