LaPorte Christmas Cookies

7 - 9 minutes Pre-heat oven to 350 cookie sheet
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter melted
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 cups flour
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup nuts
6 Tbl cocoa powder
1 recipe frosting

To the sugar add melted butter. Alternately add milk with dry ingredients. Add cocoa just before adding nuts. Bake 7 - 9 minutes at 350 degrees, until they spring up like a little cake. Frosting: 1/4 stick butter. 2 heaping Cups powdered sugar, 2 Tablespoons milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Beat until creamy with mixer.
